Freshly Baked Cookie Cotton Baby Bodysuit

Pair this cookie-themed baby outfit with a batch of homemade cookies for the ultimate baby shower or new parent gift! I have included my favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe from Butternut Bakery Blog. I love that you don't need to soften the butter or use a mixer!

Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/3 cups (170g) all purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup (112g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1/2 cup (100g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 cup (70g) granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups (250g) semisweet chocolate chips
    Flaky sea salt

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350F and line baking sheet with parchment paper
  • In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  • In a large bowl, add the melted, cooled butter. Whisk in the light brown sugar and granulated sugar for 1-2 minutes.
  • Whisk in egg and vanilla until smooth.
  • Pour in dry ingredients and fold in using. a rubber spatula. When you can still see a little bit of the flour, add in the chocolate chips and mix until you do not see any more flour. Do not over mix.
  • Using a 2oz cookie scooper (or 1/4 measuring cup) scoop out the cookie dough onto the parchment lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden.
  • When they are done, sprinkle with sea salt and transfer to wire rack to cool.
